Nova is a gorgeous 3 year old girl. She is gaining in trust and confidence every day. She needs some training to learn her commands better but she has very good house manners and is house trained. She travels in the car without a crate fine. She just lays down as long as their is room for her. She is very tolerant of the kids playing with her and hugging her. She has no desire to play and no interest in a ball or toys. She really just wants to be near people and is very content just laying by your feet or by the couch. She is very in touch with her foster family. If the kids are getting in trouble she comes over and starts giving kisses. She really doesn't like conflict. She's not a barker and doesn't whine. When she is home alone or is put out she lays down by the side garage door and just waits for us to come get her. She has greeted everyone who's came to our house very well. Nova walks great on the leash. She has learned to heel and doesn't pull and will match your pace. She is learning to pay attention to her handler and not sniff around so much. On trips to Petsmart she has shown a little too much interest in small dogs and may not do well with them. But she did tolerate them when corrected. At night she has slept on the floor right next to her foster every night and hasn't moved until they get up in the morning. She has been a very good dog and a total sweetheart. She really wants someone to love her and she craves affection.
Nova will do well with someone who is looking for a low energy companion dog who spends a lot of time at home and likes to take walks. She would do well in a home with kids but may not be a perfect fit for a family who wants to take a dog out to play fetch or be a buddy to the kids. She naturally has very good manners but needs a little work to learn her commands but will probably learn them very quickly.
