Dante is about 7 years old, playful, happy, outgoing, confident, and charming. He is about 80 lbs., and appears to be very healthy. He is a beautiful dog with a gorgeous coat. He has perfect house manners, rides well in the car, and is fine around other dogs.
Dante would be best in an adult only home that is experienced with large dogs. Although Dante is calm, compliant and wonderful with people outside the home, he can be calm but protective inside his home. He should be simply crated when new people come over. Dante and his new owner would benefit from a refresher course in basic obedience with his new family. Dante lives easily in foster care and we would love to find him the perfect home. We would be happy to supply the new adopter with one training session with one of our trainers.
Dante is generally quiet, and is great on walks. He requires daily interaction with his owner, as he loves people. He is a moderate energy dog that needs daily walks. Dante was found on Hwy 101, but nobody came to look for him. He does not seem to get along with cats! He may be able to share his home with another dog with caution, but would probably do best as an only dog.
Dante qualifies for our senior dog program in which we only ask for a donation of your choice, not an adoption fee. He is a great, great dog in good health. His hip and back x-rays are fine and available. Dante is good on long walks. He is located in Pleasant Hill.
