Dutch is a very sweet 3 to 4 year old lady who was adopted from a county shelter last year and then found her way back to a local shelter due to the owners declining health.  In her previous home, she had lived with a male doberman, so she would do well as a first or second dog!  She has been in foster for about 2 weeks now and is learning the sights of the city.  She enjoys her daily walks to the beach and exploring the city.  While she is a petite female, she is a strong puller on leash.  She is learning to walk well on leash, but isn't perfect, so an experienced handler ready for her excitement is required.

She does well with all the dogs she meets, but she is VERY excited to see them and her intros are rough.  She is very pushy upon first meeting, so  she will need an adopter who knows how to manage this behavior.  In the evaluation yard, Dutch played well with another female and took cues well.  She loves smells so maybe a career in scent work is in her future?

Currently she is being fostere in an apartment in SF and is doing well respecting boundaries.  She has shown some nervousness/trepidation about going pee/poop on leash, as she currently doesn't have a yard.  A home with a yard where she can be free for a bit to "let loose" would be nice for her.  We do think this behavior will change over time as she gets accustomed to her new spot.

Dutch has not been cat tested, but doesn't seem too interested in squirrels or birds on walks.  She is working on her crate training house training.

Dutch is available now.
