Pretty, petite, and smart, Calli appears to have the best of two breeds in her...German shepherd and Malinois. She is very grounded and confident but not obnoxious.
She went on a 1.7 mile walk and heeled really nicely on a leash. She also walked through a couple of gauntlets of barking, snarling dogs....and absolutely NO reaction. While waiting to be admitted into the vet's office, several people passed by and she was the perfect lady.
Calli is a quick study and learns things very fast. Of course, she may need to be occasionally reminded of proper ediquette or response to a command, but no harsh corrections are needed with this lovely girl. Just consistent and routine reminders will be enough. She will chase a ball, but she is definitely no retriever!
She is a great traveler and is learning to "like" being in a crate. Being able to spend time in a crate is a valuable for both the dog and the handler. and Calli will need a little more work in this area.
Calli's past was not so pleasant. As we so frequently find, the owner didn't care about the pup's welfare and eventually gave up on her. But she has persevered, as shepherds do, and is now looking for a family with whom she can share her love.
Calli has wonderful eye contact and is eager to please. Being light on her feet, you will find Calli's paws on your lap and her smile in your heart.
