Beau is a 3 year gorgeous people friendly boy. Beau's fosters have been working hard on getting him prepared for forever! Much of Beau's general anxiety is gone, and while he has recieved crate training (it's not his favorite thing in the world), he will lie at the front door waiting for his foster mom to get home. He's become much more relaxed in the home and is sometimes willing to be out of his foster's eyesight. Beau has been training with Art Deak of Zen Your Dog for his anxiety and leash reactivity. .
His backstory is a little tricky as while he does well meeting dogs, it appears that he cannot live with them, as he was returned to the shelter twice for being involved in fights with the resident dogs. From our understanding, it was all started from the other dogs, nonetheless, Beau should be in an only dog home, in order to create a successful transition for him.
Beau is very smart and is learning quickly. He picks up his training cues from Art and his fosters very quickly and does well with treat based training. Beau rides well in the car and this goofy and fun boy loves to be a part of the families activities. He's also not an overly active GSD, so a couple walks a day is all he needs, and he doesn't need to be overly exercised.
A GSD experienced home, without other dogs or cats, is what we are looking to place Beau into. As there has been so much change for Beau, we want him to go to the proper home, which will be his forever. Beau has had so much change in the past couple of months, that his fosters are working on making him feel secure. We don't know how he is living with children either, and since he has had some anxiety, we feel that an adult only home (or one with teenagers) is ideal.
