Danny was found on March 16, 2022, on the side of the freeway, not wanting to walk. X-rays revealed he was shot in the leg resulting in a large pellet radius and ulna fracture. He also had some wounds to left front leg.  Danny had surgery where a plate was inserted to hold the fracture in place while it healed. In June, after 3 1/2 months of recovery, Danny received a clean bill of health and was given the thumbs up to be able to "be a dog again".

According to foster mom Cynthia,

"Danny is the perfect big dog!  Loving, gentle, playful, terrific dog buddy with my medium size dog Heidi, tolerates my annoying chihuahua mixes, great with kids, well-behaved in public! He's young & will be easy to train as he is very attentive to people & he loves food. He already knows "sit" and "back" off. He does not jump up and so far has not climbed any fences including the 4' fence inside the yard.

He is cratetrained, housebroken, and is sooooo good when he has to be left alone.

Danny would be a great pet for an active family or person who have another medium to large size dog for him to play with.  Danny is so good with dogs of all sizes, even new dogs introduced into 'the pack'.  He loves playing and never gets exasperated"
