Male 3.5 years

My German Shepherd, Achilles, is in need of a new home. He is a 3 1/2 year old neutered male, 80 pounds, with a microchip. He has had training for the sit, stay, down commands. He is an absolute joy to have, with a goofy and sassy personality, who loves to snuggle and be pet. He has lived with four other female dogs, and regularly visits another male dog. He goes to the dog park twice weekly, where he will play chase if another dog initiates, as he is shy at the park, but will sniff respectfully. He has excellent recall off leash. He does bark at other dogs on leash, but not at people, and he does bark in the car (but I have a special eye mask for him to prevent this). He is excellent around children (lets them pull his tail or play with his ears). He has been fearful around some men and has barked, but this has been solved with my father, and stepfather, being an easy thing to turn around, when they practiced approaching him over and over and rewarding his good behavior. He can sleep in his crate or out in the house. He loves to play chase with himself, for hours in a yard. New dogs coming into the home should be met outside first. He has no exposure to cats or other small animals. He would thrive in a family setting, or with a couple, where he can receive lots of pets. He has also lived in many different climates and environments, successfully, including a family home, an apartment, in the snow and by the ocean.
I am rehoming him simply because of logistics, as he came into my life accidentally, and I have been able to care for him for the past two years, but am no longer able to do so. He is an excellent dog, and will be joyful in a new home.
Please contact me, Sophia Leonard at (831)915-9008 or sorosy99@gmail.com.
Mandatory rehoming fee of $200, and I will of course include his crate, bed and other necessities.
