My name is Luna! I am an energetic and enthusiastic black female shepherd mix. I was born on June 1, 2023. My canine companion, Ra, and I were rescued from a neglectful owner and have spent the last few months in foster care.

I am a very sweet dog. I love people and I pay a lot of attention to them--especially if they give me treats. I’m highly motivated to work for treats. I am kennel-trained, and I am learning to sit, lie down, load up, sit-stay, down-stay and come on command. I can sit down on command so fast that if you blink you will miss it! On the other hand, staying in once place is more of a challenge for me. But if you give me enough treats, I will learn how to do it. I want to please you.

Like I said, I love people! I haven’t met any that I didn’t like, but it’s probably best if I’m not around small children because I might knock them over with my enthusiastic greeting style. Older children who are big enough to hold their ground if I jump or lick would be fine. I love being petted all over. I can really soak it up and you can pet me all day till the cows come home!

I’m a fast runner with a lot of endurance. I would like someone to run with me or go for long, brisk walks. I would do well with an athletic or physically active family. Playing with my adult male dog friend is my favorite pastime. I would love to share a large dog yard with another dog and play all the time! I would do well being physically and mentally challenged. I could be trained to be a police dog or I would probably excel at agility training.

I’m interested in other animals like cats or birds. I might chase them at first, but I could probably be trained not to. I do not have a super strong prey drive, but don’t get me wrong, I would probably chase a critter if I don’t have anything else to do. I need a job. Please give me a job! I will do it well. I want to make you happy.
